Monitor
Monitoring and alerting for your Shopify storefront and commerce dependencies.
What is Blind Spot Monitor?
Blind Spot Monitor helps Shopify merchants detect and respond to issues on critical paths — storefront pages, checkout, scripts, and key third-party dependencies. When something breaks, Blind Spot opens an incident and notifies your team so you can act quickly.
Key Features
- Shopify-focused monitors — HTTP endpoints, checkout reachability, script checks, and status-page monitoring
- Safe defaults — storefront and checkout-entry checks are created automatically on first use
- Truthful activation — protection is only marked active after current checks and a successful email Fire Drill
- Incidents that match reality — incidents open on confirmed failures and close on recovery
- Flexible alerting — Email and Webhooks on all plans; Slack and SMS on Pro
- Automations — Meta + Google Ads guardrails (Pro) and webhook playbooks
- Noise control — severity-based routing, alert cooldown reminders, quiet hours (Pro), and escalation (Pro)
- Plan-safe downgrades — keep your monitors; Free runs up to 5 active monitors and locks the rest until you upgrade
- Test alerts — send a test alert any time to verify your setup end-to-end
- Revenue impact (optional) — add your store inputs to include estimated impact in alerts
- App ecosystem playbooks — for popular third-party apps, alerts include common-impact guidance plus “what to do now / how to prepare” tips
Getting Started
- 1
Install Blind Spot Monitor
Install the app from the Shopify App Store and open it from your Shopify admin.
- 2
Connect at least one channel
Go to Integrations → Add Channel and connect Email or a Webhook (available on all plans). If you’re on Pro, add Slack or SMS as a backup channel for critical alerts.
- 3
Wait for the baseline checks
Blind Spot creates storefront and checkout-reachability monitors automatically. Confirm they have current results before adding optional monitors.
- 4
Send a test alert
Go to Settings → Send Test Alert. A successful email Fire Drill plus current monitor checks completes activation.
